P.M. Kelly Bits and Spurs Value Guide

P.M. Kelly

Born:1886 Died:1976 Maker's Mark:
"KELLY BROS", "K.B.&P.", "K.&C.", "KELLY"

Pascal Kelly learned to make bits and spurs from a blacksmith in town as a way to make money to make a trip to the 1904 World’s Fair from his small town in Texas. His skill at blacksmith work and bit and spur making led him to open his own shop with his brother and eventually would have a short lived partnership with Clyde Parker as well. Kelly had an outstanding ability to make or repair almost anything and we eventually found work with J.R. McChesney’s shop for a period of time as well. Eventually Kelly started his own business and produced an incredibly wide range of designs for both bits and spurs. Kelly was prolific and his more common patterns don’t necessarily bring high values from collectors but there are numerous rare Kelly patterns that easily sell into the thousands of dollars.
